Top Drawer Babe - LGS Challenge No #26

Phew Scraped in by the skin of my teeth for this challenge at the Lets Get Shabby Blog. I love their style and I've entered a couple in the past so decided to do this one with the only old and battered photo of me as a baby.

The challenge is to use toile and ticking in the LO. I chose the photo and got the title, they were the easy parts. Toile was a bit tricky as I wanted to keep to a rather austere style to go with the photo and the story behind it. I found this toile ribbon and made a flower with it, then used an old button for the centre, from my Mother-in-law's sewing box. The ticking, I thought would be easier but I started with some old pyjama material and made a pillow of it, which didn't look right. After going through my whole stock of material and paper I finally came up with this LO. I used the black card over the framed paper to make the photo pop more. It looked too black and the background paper too clean and fresh so I distressed them both to blend in better. I've actually photographed it before I've stuck it down as the light was fading and the deadline was getting closer.

This is another page for my Ancestors Book.

Hope you like it and thank you for looking.
