For the background I used a TH paper which I painted with cream paint to soften the swirls then overlaid some 8x8 paper from a book I bought ages ago which has a very "in the moment" sentence on it which goes - she knew it was time to use her wings, so she did! The little bird is flying from it's cage so I cut the birdcage and the bird from the back ground which I whole punched and tilted onto the backing paper. I put the little cameo photo frame, a present from Val at Bastelmania, next to the bird to represent myself flying..I used cream paint to unify the scroll at the top, the title letters and the butterfly then stamped onto them. The owl is to show the wisdom I've learned which has brought me to this moment in my life and the clock face to show how fast my life has flown.
I also used the very last of my flowers from Mitra, love them so much, which I put somewhere safe a few months ago and just found them again!! It's the big pink one with that lovely sewn button on it. I was also inspired to use lots of different buttons on my page by another challenge while I was blog hopping but I've lost the link. The button flower and the cameo are from two very kind bloggers who have helped me with their words of comfort, and are part of my here and now.
As you can see I've used my own hand made flowers with button centres, plus my own handmade buttons, including the large pink and green ones by Mitra's flower. My journalling, on the back of my hearts reads - I have to seize the moment and live for each day doing as much as I can, in the here and now!
Really wish I could remember the buttons challenge so I can give them a link too. I've just updated to show the link to Scrap our Stash)
As always thank you everyone for all your kind words,
I love reading them and hope you enjoy Seizing Your Moments too!

ReplyDeleteGreat idea for the Bird is the Word challenge, I really am enjoying all the symbolism on this piece. I haven't seen a button challenge...not that I can recall...However ScrapforHelp has a challenge using book pages...yours actually ties in with your project even...unlike mine that just looks pretty! ;-)
