I decided that I would start the New Year this year with some projects using up my scrap from last year and here's the first one. I took inspiration from an article in the Stampington blog details here.
The artist, Roben-Marie Smith, whose style I admire greatly, used last year's calendar pages to create her collaged journal. I had an old manila style folder which I tore into smaller pages to create my journal. I glued my collage shapes to the pages with diluted pva glue adding some leftover stamped, tissue paper. I mixed white gesso, white acrylic and pva glue and painted the pages to unify them. I stamped over them again with background stamps and decorated with my leftover die-cuts; birds, deer and alphas. I added different thickness string to the book rings and to some of the pages. I shall add some journaling during the year. I would like to enter this for the January challenge at SFH
I hope you like it, and thanks for looking, I do appreciate it.
