Hug! -Scrapfriends, SFH and AFSC Challenges!

I could do with a hug right now!!  I'm chasing my tail trying to complete the three LO's I started at the beginning of May! Hopping, yes hopping and limping, around on trains and buses and other equally time consuming things has left me with little inclination to finish them until now. Doing a happy dance as Mom is off the critical list and maintaining her own BP. YAY what a fighter!!
More about her in my next post!  This one is called HUG, the chippie was in Val's last parcel and as soon as I saw this card/photo  in the card shop I thought that's just what I need to go with my LO theme. Hope I'm not breaching any c/r.

This LO started as a response to the challenges at Scrapfriends Yummy Scrap#13 Colour palette for May, isn't it yummy?
Also Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge who are asking what did you want to be when you grew up and Scrap For Help to use napkins in an inventive way plus the usual recycled item.

I found this old napkin from a birthday party, and cut the lacy edge from it to make a lacy border around the edge of my photo montage. I've used the rest on my other LO so no waste there!
I chose the picture of children playing nurses, which is what I was always doing when I was a child.  Being a nurse was all I ever wanted to do after Mom took me to the Dolls Hospital to have my dolls head mended.  I'm writing that story for Sian's Storytelling Sunday this Sunday, so you'll have to pop back for that one.
The cameo photo is a photo of me when I was 7 yrs old all dressed up in my party frock at my friend's birthday party.  Mom had made the dress from her green taffeta bridesmaid's dress she'd had for her sister's wedding.  I loved the covered buttons and the dark green velvet ribbon sash.

My journalling reads....... I was always trying to nurse my dolls back to health after Mom took me to the Dolls Hospital!.It's hidden beneath the journey and bird  tag.  The hearts on the cream strip were part of a practice piece of the embroidery I can do on my machine.  I cut the best out of the practice piece to add to my LO.  Those sweet little star beads are another present from Val at Bastelmania.  Sorry about the colour variation on the images, the weather here is horrible, wet windy and dark! All day!!!

Thank you for looking and your lovely comments, love them all! Hope you're having a good day today!  Hugs from the UK.

  5. Oh, what an adorable page! I'll be back to read the story after it is posted.

Glad your mom is doing better. Hope she continues to do so!

Thanks for your recent comments on my blog. In answer to your question, YES I do love the magical way that watercolors blend together. I actually have a bit of watercolor work in the layout that I posted today. Did you read my mind? :)

Thanks for participating in the latest S4H challenge. You are such a faithful supporter. I like how you used the lacy border. It fits in perfectly with the rest of your design.

    Take care!
